What to do

Bring a sufficient supply from home. Pack enough medication for your entire trip plus a buffer. Keep everything in original labeled packaging.

Carry a physician letter for controlled substances or injectables — on letterhead, stating your diagnosis, medication, dose, and that it is for personal use.

If you run out: Any urgent care center or 24/7 telemedicine service can assess you and issue a US prescription. Controlled substances face additional restrictions — planning ahead is essential.
